HP FI-1000 Ink, Printhead Repair & Retrofit

InkBags keeps industrial HP inkjet machines printing. We repair HP FI-1000 and HP PageWide printheads, supply original and compatible ink in pigment and dye, and retrofit FI-1000 presses with a bulk ink system that runs without any modification to the printer’s own HP software.

Three things we do

Service

Printhead repair and recovery

Diagnosis from a nozzle test print, deep flushing and nozzle recovery, ink system service, and replacement heads when recovery is not viable. We tell you which case you have before you spend anything.

Supply

Ink — original and compatible

Original HP ink, and our own compatible ink that is very close to the original and fully suited to HP FI-1000, HP PageWide and HP PageWide XL. Available as pigment and as dye.

System

FI-1000 bulk ink retrofit

A control system, replacement board, cartridge set and bulk pigment ink that replace the OEM cartridge supply model — for operations where cost per litre has become the constraint.

A dead sector prints on every single copy

The HP FI-1000 is a single 297 mm page-wide array. There is no carriage motion to average out a fault, so when one die segment stops firing you get a continuous band of missing print in exactly the same place on every piece that comes off the machine.

Some of those faults are recoverable and some are not. Blocked nozzles, dried ink, contaminated ink paths and air-lock after ink starvation usually come back. An electrically dead die segment never does — and repeatedly purging a head that has already dried out can turn the first case into the second.

Machines we service

The FI-1000 is an OEM print engine sold under many brands, so the badge on the front rarely tells you what is inside.

Why operations move off OEM cartridges

Digital print does not get cheaper per copy as volume grows — cost per copy stays broadly flat. Once production volume rises, consumables become the dominant constraint on the business model rather than a line item.

How working with us starts

  1. Tell us the machine. Make, model and what it prints. We identify which printhead is actually inside it.
  2. Send the evidence. A nozzle test print for a repair, or your consumption figures for ink and retrofit.
  3. Get a straight answer. What failed, whether it is recoverable, what it costs, and what it does not make sense to spend money on.
  4. Back into production. Recovery, replacement head, or ink supply — whichever actually solves it.

Common questions

What does InkBags do?

Three things for industrial HP thermal inkjet machines: we supply ink (original HP and our own compatible equivalent, in pigment and dye), we repair and recover printheads, and we retrofit HP FI-1000 based printers with a bulk ink system that lowers cost per litre.

Which machines does InkBags work on?

Machines built on the HP FI-1000 Fixed Imager — the Boxmaking Machinery BM300, the Printware iJetColor Pro series, the HSA SPD-1175, TICAB systems and other OEM-badged presses — and machines built on HP PageWide, including industrial label printers and HP PageWide XL.

Does the InkBags system require changes to the printer’s HP software?

No. The InkBags system works alongside the machine without modification to its HP software.

Can a failed HP FI-1000 printhead be repaired?

Often, yes. Blocked nozzles, dried ink, contaminated ink paths and air-lock after ink starvation are recoverable in a large share of cases. Electrical or physical damage to a die segment is not — we tell you which one you have before quoting.

How do I get a price?

For ink, use the request form on the ink page. For printhead repair, send a nozzle test print. Both are answered individually, because volume, formulation and failure mode change the answer completely.
